Public Speaking: “Golden Nuggets” in the Body of your Presentation

Les Brown speaking at "Presentations that Sell" Boot CampPeople who come to listen to you speak often desire to get some “take-aways” that can help them become a better speaker or allow them to develop good presentation skills. You can point out some important factors or tips from your entire presentation.  According to the Sicilian Mentor Presentation Template, we call these “Golden Nuggets.”  They are short and to the point factoids we share with the audience.

Remember - it is these “golden nuggets” that the audience craves for. So, ensure that when you share these important pieces of wisdom with your audience, they listen to it with full attention and can appreciate its usefulness.

Before you share your “golden nuggets”, take a pause and prepare the audience for something important that you are going to share. Take you voice to a new level and speak slowly so that the dramatic effect is increased and the entire gathering can hear it clearly. Take a pause after you have finished. Next, let the audience participate and ask them questions which may help them understand the matter better.

Answer their questions as well as you can. You may even invite members of the audience to answer on your behalf, thereby making the entire session all the more fun for everyone present there. However, wrap up this Q&A soon by returning to the presentation, telling your audience that you will field more questions at the end of the session.

Sharing your “golden nuggets” with the audience will make them anticipate its coming with great interest and also help them get a summary of the whole presentation in easy-to remember words.
